Alexander J. Charlton-Rosa, President
Alex is an active member of the community, through Pi Kappa Phi and the Rotary Club, with a passion for philanthropy and service. Alex’s interests in health education stem from his own personal health goals as a martial arts practitioner and basketball coach to at-risk youth. Alex holds a B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley in Film and Media and is a member of the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners. He enjoys sustaining green initiatives by driving his all-electric vehicle and lives with his wife in South Pasadena, CA.
Brittany Weisler, Vice President
Brittany Weisler is thrilled to be a part of The Cleft Foundation. She is looking forward to strengthening The Cleft Foundation's organizational vision by spreading awareness and celebration of TCF's vision throughout the cleft community. Brittany herself was born with unilateral cleft lip and palate. She has had over 7 surgeries including lip repair, ear tubes, rhinoplasty, and her most recent maxillofacial (jaw surgery). Brittany knows firsthand what cleft affected families have to go through. Through her experience, Brittany founded Cleft Club, an instagram based organization that has brought over 4,000 clefties from around the globe together to connect with one another. Brittany also works at the Phoenix Cleft and Craniofacial Center and serves the Arizona cleft families through programs and events. Prior to moving to Arizona last year, Brittany graduated with her bachelors degree in Business Management & Leadership in Virginia. Brittany is the oldest of six children who she fondly refers to as her best friends. Brittany is passionate about strengthening the cleft community and providing support, education, and resources to cleft affected families all over the world.
Boris W. Palencia, Treasurer
After completing a tour in Iraq with the Marine Corps, Boris studied at the University of California, Santa Barbara. While there, he became the President of the Student Veteran Organization, which received two awards for their veteran advocacy: The UC President’s Award for Outstanding Student Organization and UCSB’s Leslie Griffin Lawson Outstanding President Leadership Award. He received a B.A. in Economics and Accounting as part of the first graduating class from the Economics department. After graduating from UCSB, Boris began a career as an accountant, quickly working his way up within the Extramural Funds Department at his alma mater. He is currently the Business Officer at the UCSB Environmental Health and Safety department, a volunteer with the Dream Foundation and a Rotaract member. Boris also holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the Pepperdine Graziadio School of Business and lives with his wife and son in Santa Barbara, CA.
Stacy Kwon, Secretary
Stacy Kwon joined The Cleft Foundation because she supports its emphasis on prevention through prenatal health education. Her passion for health stems from her personal and familial struggles for fitness and good health. Stacy received a B.A. in Philosophy and a B.A. in French from the University of California, Berkeley. She is also an active volunteer for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and her law firm’s community service committee. Stacy is passionate about traveling and enjoys immersing herself in other cultures and languages. She currently resides in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA.
